5. Marketing Communications

5.1 Types of Marketing Communications.

Mountain West may offer the following types of marketing communications:

  1. Email marketing. Promotional emails, seasonal offers, service reminders, newsletters, maintenance tips, and special deals sent to your email address.
  2. SMS / text message marketing. Promotional text messages, seasonal offers, service reminders, and special deals sent to your mobile phone number.
  3. Service-related communications (non-marketing). Appointment confirmations, arrival updates, scheduling changes, invoice notices, and other transactional messages directly related to a service you requested or received. These are not marketing and do not require marketing consent. You will receive these whenever you book a service or have an active engagement with Mountain West.

5.2 Consent Required.

  1. Email marketing requires your opt-in consent. You may opt in by checking the email marketing box on our website, quote form, booking form, or a separate marketing consent form. You may also opt in verbally or in writing during a service visit.
  2. SMS / text message marketing requires your express written consent. You may opt in by checking the SMS marketing box on our website or signing a written or electronic consent form that clearly states you are agreeing to receive promotional text messages. Verbal consent alone is not sufficient for SMS marketing. By opting in to SMS marketing, you consent to receive recurring promotional text messages from Mountain West at the mobile number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  3. You are never required to opt in to marketing communications as a condition of receiving service. You may decline all marketing communications and still receive full service from Mountain West.

5.3 What You Can Expect.

  1. Email marketing messages will be sent no more than once per week unless you request more frequent communications.
  2. SMS marketing messages will be sent no more than eight (8) messages per month.
  3. Every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Every marketing text message will include opt-out instructions (reply STOP to unsubscribe).

5.4 How to Opt Out.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time using any of the following methods:

  1. Email: Click the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing email.
  2. SMS: Reply STOP to any marketing text message.
  3. Contact us: Email info@mountainwesthydrojetting.com or call (801) 317-8104 and request removal from marketing lists.
  4. In writing: Send a written request to Mountain West at 868 N 450 W, Kaysville, Utah 84037.

We will process opt-out requests within ten (10) business days for email and within twenty-four (24) hours for SMS. Opting out of marketing communications does not affect service-related transactional messages (appointment confirmations, invoice notices, etc.) related to services you have requested or received.

5.5 Consent Records.

Mountain West maintains records of marketing consent, including the date, method, and specific communications you opted in to. These records are retained for the duration of your consent plus three (3) years after you opt out, for compliance and dispute-resolution purposes.

6. Advertising and Retargeting

6.1 Online Advertising.

Mountain West runs online advertising campaigns through third-party advertising platforms. These platforms currently include or may in the future include: Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Ads (including YouTube and Google Display Network), TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), Pinterest, and other advertising networks.

Our advertising campaigns may include:

  1. Search ads — ads that appear in search results when someone searches for sewer, drain, plumbing, pressure washing, or related services in our service area.
  2. Social media ads — ads that appear on social media platforms targeting users in our service area who may be interested in our services based on demographics, interests, or behavior.
  3. Video ads — ads that appear on video platforms such as YouTube or TikTok.
  4. Retargeting / remarketing ads — ads shown to people who have previously visited our website. If you visit mountainwesthydrojetting.com and later see a Mountain West ad on any of these platforms, that is retargeting.

6.2 How Retargeting Works.

When you visit our website with marketing cookies enabled (see our Cookie Policy), tracking pixels from the advertising platforms we use may collect information about your visit, including pages viewed, time spent, and actions taken (such as submitting a quote request). This information is used to:

  1. Show you Mountain West ads on the platforms listed above and their partner networks
  2. Measure whether our ads led to website visits, quote requests, or bookings
  3. Create "lookalike" or "similar" audiences — groups of people who share characteristics with our existing website visitors or customers, to whom we may show ads. Lookalike audiences are created by the advertising platform using aggregated data and do not reveal your personal identity to Mountain West.

6.3 What Data Is Shared with Advertising Platforms.

Each advertising platform we use may receive information about your website visit through its tracking pixel, including pages viewed, actions taken, browser and device information, and IP address. Each platform processes this data under its own privacy policy. Mountain West does not control how advertising platforms use data after it is received.

We do not upload your name, email address, phone number, or service address to advertising platforms for their independent use unless you have separately consented to custom audience matching.

For a specific list of the tracking pixels and cookies currently installed on our website, see our Cookie Policy at mountainwesthydrojetting.com/cookies. The Cookie Policy is updated when we add or remove advertising platform integrations.

6.4 How to Opt Out of Retargeting.

You can limit or opt out of retargeting advertising through any of the following methods:

  1. Cookie settings: Click "Cookie Settings" in the footer of our website and select "Essential Only" to block all advertising tracking pixels and cookies.
  2. Platform-specific controls: Each advertising platform provides its own ad preference and opt-out settings. Links to the major platforms we use:
  1. Industry opt-out tools:
  1. Browser settings: Use your browser's cookie settings to block third-party cookies, or use private/incognito browsing mode.

Opting out of retargeting does not mean you will stop seeing Mountain West ads entirely — it means ads will no longer be targeted to you based on your visit to our website. You may still see our ads through general search results, geographic targeting, or interest-based targeting that is not connected to your website visit.
